It surely looked like this year would be the year of change for me. The journey with my previous employer ended in February, so I’m currently looking for new opportunities. My photography and video production business may need to undergo some kind of transformation, and our office lease will end at the end of April. My experience in the Asian Winter Games made me feel like I have to do something with curling in Taiwan even though I don’t know what it is yet. Although my wife and I decided that we want to stay in Madison because it’s a good place to raise kids, we may still need to sell our house if I can’t find a job soon enough. Unfortunately, there aren’t many statistician positions here, and my hope would be to find a remote position.
A few weeks ago, a friend of mine gave me two books to read, hoping to help me get through all the changes that had happened and those expected to happen. Both books are written by Dean Graziosi. One is Totally Fulfilled and the other Millionaire Success Habits. I’ve just finished reading both books and am doing some of the “exercises” in them. I found it quite helpful. I’m not going to get into details of the books here. But if you are facing changes or uncertainties like I am right now, these books are worth reading.
Of course, this is not the first time I’m facing changes and uncertainties. This is also not the first time I’m thinking about where I want to go in my life. But this is the first time I’m writing about it and even made a short film about it. Maybe I could use the idea of “The Year of Change” for my next film.
