Comparing to the temperature today in Madison, the weather was actually not too bad when I was in Munising, MI, a week ago. The highest temperature was 8 degrees below zero around noon, and it may reach 17 degrees below zero tonight. Plus wind chill, it’s more like 30 to 40 degrees below zero. On the bright side, there was no snow.
This photo was taken at Munising Bay. I remember the temperature was close to zero, plus wind at 15 to 25 mph from Lake Superior and scattered snow showers. Imagine how cold it is. That’s one of the reasons I chose Pentax 645D, which is rated at 40 degrees below zero. It functioned flawlessly under such a extreme weather for a prolonged period of time and was the last thing I would worry about while taking photos.
